Tee Time Tribute
Many of you know Les loved playing golf and had a standing tee time with several close friends every Thursday at 5:07pm. As a way to honor his love of the game, we are extending an invitation to pay tribute to Les at the Country Club on Thursday afternoon. Please join us at the Ashland Country Club at 4:45pm, Thursday, August 20th. Everyone will be given a golf ball and a sharpie to write your name on it. Beginning at 5:07, everyone will have an opportunity to tee it up for Les and drive the ball down the fareway (or rough, in my case). Once everyone has had their turn, the golf balls will be collected and given to Mom. So, please consider joining us for this Tee Time Tribute to a man who loved the game. Thanks!

I've left Sunday to do workshops and got back today. I knew Les would be gone by the time I got back. I knew parts of the 17 story but when you put it all together it is amazing. I know the loss and emptiness is huge for all of you, but the joy is also huge to know that Les is in heaven and not struggling any more. Bless all of you. . .My thoughts and prayers are with you today as they have been for the last four months. You will be blessed by your family, your friends, and your memories. Connie S.
ReplyDeleteThe 5:30 golf outing is a really special tribute...good thinking
What a wonderful idea. I just realized that 5pm is 1700 in military time. How fitting.

A perfect tribute--I hope Dean will be able to be there. He and Les really had a good time as partners on the senior golf league. When he heard of Les' diagnosis, he said, "If my partner can't play, I'm not playing either." Hope golf balls are flying everywhere!!!! (I know that's not what golfers strive for but from the stories Dean and Les told after each round, I believe that did happen on occasion.) Love~~ Mila
ReplyDeleteNic, my thoughts and prayers are with you, your mom, and Natalie as well as the rest of your families. Your parents were such great role models for all of us that were in school and sports. I think your Dad talked with me more about my high school golf scores then my own parents did! :) Connie Jo and I were so impressed with how close you and Natalie were and clearly your parents had a profound impact on that. We will miss this blog as well, it was a wonderful way to keep informed without feeling intrusive. Our love and thoughts go out to you on this day,
