The time is near...

Based on several symptoms Les is showing, the hospice nurses don't think he'll be with us too much longer. His breathing is becoming more labored as his lungs are filling up with fluid. His hands and arms are cold to the touch and he isn't responding.

We are so thankful the hospice nurses are making sure he is in no pain and is being cared for with such dignity. We had lots of family here tonight for a prayer service with Pastor Lori...Mom's brother Mike and his kids, Kim and Jeff, Tom and Nancy, Judy, Deb and Jodi, and of course Nat's and my families.

We are also so thankful for the outpouring of support we have received during Les's illness. We will continue to need your prayers and support as Les moves on with Jesus and we are left behind for now.

  2. Carolyn and family,
We've all sent so many fervent pleas heavenward for healing - it is hard to accept that it is not to be as we had hoped. May you find comfort in all of the love that surrounds you right now.

  3. Please know that although we are not nearby, Jill and I are standing vigil tonight, thinking about Les and his family. This wonderful man will leave us for a better place but OUR place will surely be wanting with out Les.

  4. We just returned from Colorado and are sad and surprised to hear of Les's condition. We pray that he is feeling no pain, and that he knows you're all nearby and love him so much. We also pray for strenght and peace for all of you.

  5. The hardest thing is to say good-bye, but to know the pain and suffering is going is a good thing. You will be able to hold on to the wonderful memories your were able to have with your dad over the last few months as you were truly able to show him how much you love him. God will carry you through the tough times, promise. My love and prayers to your family.

  6. Knowing that Les will soon be in Gods hands and that his suffering will be over is little consulation to a family that is hurting the way you all are, but also know that God is with you all and will guide you through the times ahead. The wonderful memories you had through the years will help you. You and your families continue to be in my prayers. Joyce

  7. Nikki,

I just read up after not keeping up on things the last couple of weeks. I'm so sorry for all of you, and we will be praying for peace and comfort for everyone in your family. This has been a long journey for everyone involved. Please give your mom a hug from us and let her know that she is in our thoughts and prayers. If Bryce needs friends to hang out with just let us know, Jimmy would be more than happy to spend time with him.
