Shortly after lunch, Les was able to spend about 25 minutes outside again today. He said he really enjoyed the warm weather. The nurses found a Chili's hat for him to wear to protect him from the sun. He says he has hundreds at home, so we'll just need to bring some up to the hospital.
He slept a lot today. He seems to think he is only getting about 3 - 4 hours of sleep during the night. Aunt Judy brought a boom box and some cds so he can listen to these interesting stories of famous people's lives and historical events. Although maybe listening to them at night isn't such a good idea... Mom said they were so interesting she missed her nap in the chair this afternoon! Dr. T has been out all week, but we'll expect a visit on Monday. Hopefully we'll get the scoop on a dismissal date and the upcoming chemo.
We love reading the comments from all our friends and family. We pray that blessings abound in your lives, as we feel blessed by you. Thanks!

I cannot believe it, but we hit 100 degrees this week in Phoenix. Sure wish I were back in Nebraska, hangin' out with Uncle Les. Love you all!
ReplyDeleteHi there--it's a member of your fan club just checking in tonight.
ReplyDeleteI want to tell you that I had my 1st golf lesson in 20 years today. He made all kinds of adjustments--my new thing to remember is G.A.S.--that stands for grip-alignment-stance! He completely changed my grip. I was only on the driving range today and I'm kinda scared to go out and golf. I have another lesson next Thursday-hope I retain some of it.
I keep you in my daily prayers--
Mary Morrissey
Just checking in and seeing how you are doing. It was a great day today...my son AJ and I blew bubbles and played outside.
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic, and coming from a professional stylist...I love the cut... but even more your smile! You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Les,
ReplyDeleteI spoke with Dave Lutton the other day and he mentioned that you have been ailing. Dave also referred me to this site. You and the family have been in my thoughts nonstop since I learned this news. You have also been in my prayers. I love my Ashland Rotarians and I always look back with fond memories of my days as an Ashland Rotarian! I was just thinking of you a few weeks ago when I thought of attending the honors banquet for the local high school students in late March. I really appreciate this blog, and I will be a regular reader. I will talk to you again soon, Les.

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are getting a little sunshine. I check your blog and your progress throughout the week. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Give Nat a big squeeze from me. Take Care and Keep Fighting. Diane and Rick Bell
Glad you can go outside, Les. I think your hat needs a chin strap today -- it is windy!
ReplyDeleteIn case you're interested, corn planting seems to be going well. We're hoping the rain that they're forecasting for the weekend will come through. (with apologies to you non-farmers who hate to have rain on the weekend!)
We're continuing to keep you and Carolyn and family in our prayers. It's great to have this site and to see your smile! God be with you!
